The original acoustic recordings were done in two projects, "Kali Ma(2006), and "Songs of Triumph and Despair (2010 oh)... KALI ma was recorded on a Tascam analog tape deck, and Songs of Triumph on a Sony Camcorder where I extracted the audio clip...w/ one additional song "Wild Journey"(which is now "Kali's Fierce Journey)", which was published on my "Dream Songs" EP....

It wasn't until 2022 during the later stages of the pandemic did I dig up the tracks, because frankly I was out of lyrical ideas for songs... The pandemic being a period of darkness I renamed the album "Kali Yuga: Into the Age of Darkness", after naming it "Sri Kali Ma", then "Primitive"... I found "Primitive" to be an insult to the Hindu religion so I changed the name... All the songs were renamed on the album to fit in with Hindu theology... Although the music isn't traditional Indian music, they were rather derived from artists like Ravi Shankar, or Vishwa Bhatt... and tailored to my lack of musical ability....

After digging up the tracks I began chiseling out a concept for the album cover, track names, and began overdubbing keyboard percussions, and some organic instruments... It was during this time I changed my recording techniques, so I could make the album more dimensional, recording separate tracks, then cutting and pasting the audio....

There were other influences that helped me develop this album... Such as Schwarzenegger's "Conan, the Barbarian", the (1984)movie "Excalibur", Persian classical music, and the mood of Nick Cave, and Rowland S. Howard... This album is definitely a fusion of many ideas, modern, and primitive...

This album is dedicated to those who believe in the unseen, religious, spiritual, or superstitious.... For if it wasn't for my belief in the spirit world I'd be dead by now....
